Chef Sebastian Stehr is Executive Chef at Beyond, the FYN Restaurant Group's restaurant at Buitenverwachting wine farm in Constantia. His career began under Peter Tempelhoff at The Greenhouse in 2009, followed by years as a private chef on luxury yachts. Returning to Cape Town during Covid, he rejoined the group at Beyond's launch and rose to Executive Chef and Partner. His cooking reflects a deep commitment to indigenous, often-forgotten Cape ingredients. Working with paleoecologist Dr Jan de Vynck, he developed the Origins of Flavor tasting menu. Beyond is recognized by World's 50 Best Discovery and holds a Two Star Eat Out rating.
