James Gaag
La Colombe
Growing up in a food-oriented family with his mother in the kitchen, James Gaag's culinary interest started young. He began his professional career in 2009 before joining La Colombe in 2010 as a student, rising quickly to Sous Chef. He left temporarily to work for legendary Chef Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons in Oxford. In 2014, James returned to take the helm at La Colombe as Head Chef when the restaurant moved to its current home at Silvermist Wine Estate. As Executive Chef, La Colombe has gained numerous awards under his leadership.
