Adel Hughes
Seebamboes
Born and raised in Pretoria, Adel started in hospitality at 16 as a waitress. After years in front of house, she studied at Prue Leith Chefs Academy. Moving to Betty's Bay, she ran Oep Ve Koep in Paternoster, learning from mentor Kobus van der Merwe of Wolfgat. Her foraging walks sparked a deep connection to local flavours. In August 2023, she became sous-chef at Galjoen in Cape Town, where she met Neil Swart and Anouchka Horn, leading to the birth of their creative collaboration, Seebamboes.
