Cafe Egghead Diner

A retro 70s-style diner born from a lockdown egg roll delivery concept that quickly found its own home in 2021. Egghead Diner is the younger sibling of Kloof Street House and Asoka, brought to life by owner Paul Hetreed and chef Johan van Schalkwyk, who focus on quality comfort food with excellent sourcing.

The space features yellow booth seating, neon gold lighting, Bauhaus art, and curbside tables with views of Table Mountain. The famous egg rolls remain a signature, available as the Hothead or Beefhead, alongside smash burgers with wagyu patties, truffled mushroom aioli, and smoked tomato chutney. Other highlights include roast tomato soup with a chunky cheese toastie, chicken schnitzel, bangers and mash, fish and chips with minted mushy peas, and salted caramel popcorn cheesecake.
