Restaurant Post & Pepper

A "fun dining" destination in the heart of bustling Stellenbosch, housed in the town's historic old Post Office – the oldest post office in South Africa. Post & Pepper is the solo venture of award-winning chef Jess van Dyk, who worked at the helm of some of the country's leading restaurants before creating a space where all aspects of fine dining are respected and celebrated without the starch, snobbery, or price tag.

Jess's cooking is playful and refined, with reimagined classics and twists on traditional favourites that take you on a flavour-packed journey of pure joy. The essence of the restaurant revolves around the simple pleasure of sharing good food, conversation, and time with one another. The name Post & Pepper plays on the history of the building while paying homage to the food aspect of the restaurant.

The menu focuses on exquisite small plates designed for sharing, paired with complex wines and friendly, efficient service. A collaboration with cellar master Catherine Marshall produced the Post & Pepper Semillon 2022, a wine born from fine wine and good food shared between like-minded women.
