Cafe Mulberry & Prince
A New York-inspired kitchen and bar tucked away on Pepper Street, just off the buzzing Bree Street strip in Cape Town's CBD. Mulberry & Prince was brought to life by chefs Cornel Mostert and Cynthia Rivera, who met while studying at the Culinary Institute of America—Rivera is a New Yorker, and the restaurant is named after two streets in Manhattan.
The menu focuses on American-style brunch classics with no apologies. Expect dishes like Chicken & Waffles, Pastrami Benedict, Turkish Eggs, Burrata Truffle Scramble, Moroccan Eggs Florentine, and an Avocado Croissant. For those with a sweet tooth, the Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes, Blueberry Pancakes, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Shally's Pancakes, and Seasonal Belgian Waffles are all on offer. The Ceremony Matcha Latte is a popular beverage choice. The restaurant is fully halaal.
The space itself is a dusty-pink dream, featuring a palette of pink, grey, and white with mid-century modern furniture, exposed brick, colourful stained glass, and artwork by local artist Kurt Pino lining the walls. You enter through distinctive dusty-pink doors that have become something of an Instagram icon.
